The Search Bar is the key to everything – type a company name, country or anything you’re looking for and see the results in the Info Panel. It's the best way to find things on MapStand.
The simplest way to get started is to type something in and see what happens... Seaching for a company, country, field or well couldn't be easier.
Since the Dec 2019 release, we have enabled one click view of the assets belonging to a country of company.
Simply type in the name of the country or company in the Search Bar and select it in the Info panel. The map will then display all assets associated with that country or company. You will also find that the News (newsfeed) and Community panels are also filtered based on this selection.
NB: If you search for a company e.g. BP - to see all assets for that company (including subsidiaries) displayed on the map, make sure you select the company name from the Organisation Group Companies list, in the Info panel.
Search results are narrowed by adding more information e.g. oil field BP united kingdom
The search will return items from the database where all words specified are present in any of the objects' attributes.
If you are interested in seeing ongoing activity, switch on the Planned Boreholes, Prospects, Rigs and Vessels layers. Then type the name of the country you are interested into the Search Bar e.g. Norway
When you select Norway in the Info Panel - the map automatically zooms into and highlights Norway (see below). You can see there are only two planned boreholes in Norway.
If we zoom to the one furthest south and click on it the info panel gives all the information about the layers at that location. Country is Norway; Prospect is Enniberg, Planned Borehole is 25/7-8 S and the Rig and Vessel is Leiv Eriksson.
This tells you that the planned borehole 25/7-8 S (to test Enniberg prospect) is currently being drilled - the semisub name is Leiv Eriksson. If you then click on Planned Borehole 25/7-8 S in the Info Panel - you will see the Estimated Spud Date is October 15th 2019.
If you then switch off planned boreholes and switch on Boreholes layer and select 25/7-8 S in the Info Panel ....
You will see that the actual spud date was November 13th 2019.
If you type Ennisberg in the News Panel ...
The top news item tells you about the consent for drilling:
